I am Stella Rokn and I live in Germany. Over the years I worked with textiles and glass, tried working with ceramics, studied Arab ornament and Chinese painting. Each practice has left its mark on what I do now, on how I see the balance of empty and filled space, on how I choose a subject, building a composition, and using the possibilities of the materials.
Here, I present works from the Chinese cycle in different formats, themes, and moods, various from monochrome to bright, painted in the "Xieyi" style. They are united by a common aesthetic and a striving for inner balance.
